Our work

STUDY RECORDING THE EXISTING ROAD NETWORK OF THE COUNTRY, BY MUNICIPAL UNIT, IN AREAS OUTSIDE CITY TOWN PLANS, OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARIES OF SETTLEMENTS LEGALLY EXISTING BEFORE 1923 AND OF SETTLEMENTS OF UP TO 2,000 INHABITANTS, IN THE REGIONAL UNITS OF ACHAIA AND ILIA
CONTRACT with ILIDA SA
The challenge: a single, reliable and continuously updated digital road network, edited concurrently by many users and delivered to public-sector specifications.
What we did:
- Database: migrated the data from files to a PostgreSQL/PostGIS Enterprise Geodatabase, in GGRS87 (EGSA87) at a scale of 1:2,500.
- Concurrent editing: set up editing for about 50 users over VPN, using QGIS with roles and permissions per team.
- Automatic geometry validation: using triggers, invalid geometries are corrected or rejected the moment they are entered.
- Attribute quality control: built Python tools that check the descriptive attributes against more than 50 rules and detect connectivity gaps in the network.
- Nightly maintenance: the database is maintained automatically every night.
- Deliverables: Shapefile and GeoPackage, with INSPIRE metadata (ISO 19139) and a feature catalogue (ISO 19110).
Result: a single, validated geospatial network. The data are consistent, updates are fast, and the deliverable is ready for use by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEN)
Experience and professionalism
Experience is the key to success in our professional life, as it gives us the knowledge needed to tackle any spatial problem or requirement our clients may have.
